 Alex Buckner, PsyD

I pursued my undergraduate education at Tulane University in New Orleans, shortly after Hurricane Katrina struck. This experience in New Orleans was invaluable in helping me see the suffering in many parts of the U.S and all over the world. This suffering, along with my desire to help people find their way out of suffering, inspired me to become a psychologist. Following my undergraduate studies, I worked for two years at Four Winds Hospital and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital in Westchester County, NY.

After gaining experience in the field, I completed my doctoral studies at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, where I received my doctorate degree in clinical psychology. During my time at Yeshiva, I gained extensive experience in individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as psychological testing and assessment. I have worked with individuals at NYU’s counseling center, multiple community mental health clinics, and inpatient state and private hospitals. For the past five years, I have maintained a private practice in New York City.

I am extremely passionate about my work and devoted to others, and seek to empower people to live their best lives. I pride myself on my empathy and therapeutic skills, and would look forward to helping you improve your life in every way I can.

Kai Lin Fu, PsyD

As a queer cis female first generation Asian American psychologist, providing you a safe and collaborative therapeutic space is my main priority. From there, we can work towards healing, and striving for more authentic alignment in your life. I take a multiculturally responsive, relational psychodynamic approach to our work. I provide care for various forms of trauma, in particular complex intergenerational and racial wounds and their somatic impacts.

I am currently a part time staff member at The New School Student Health Services and have expertise working with visual and performing artists. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia Irving Medical Center’s Student Health on Haven, specializing in embodiment and trauma in intersectional somatic therapy. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. My services include individual, couples and group therapy, psychological/psychoeducational assessments, and supervision. I can offer care in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.

Helping those navigating the intersectionality of identity and folx on the margins of dominant cultures are focuses of mine. Depression, anxiety and family conflict concerns are a few other areas I also specialize in. It is important to me that I get to know you and your needs, for us to work together so you can have a better understanding of yourself and how you can make decisions that are closer aligned with your values. I look forward to working with you.
